Bulletproof: 4 Week Zoom Workshop on Practical Guide to Winning the War In Your Mind
Bulletproof: 4 Week Zoom Workshop on Practical Guide to Winning the War In Your Mind
Seventy percent of kids quit playing organized sports by the age of thirteen. Most of them quit because it is quite simply not fun anymore. Understandably so, sports can be a source of anxiety, stress, and fear. Athletes are training and playing six days a week, coaches are pushing a win at all costs mentality, expecting youth athletes to be “mini-pros.” Youth athletes are in a pressure cooker in youth sports these days, which can be a stark contrast with fun. Let’s work to give them practical tools to manage the pressure so we can bring enjoyment back to sport.
For both athlete workshops, the goal is to be bulletproof mentally. Sport can be both difficult and exciting. What determines your capacity for excellence isn’t your technical, tactical or physical ability. It’s your psychological ability to manage the ups and downs of sport. In this workshop, you’ll explore your identity, learn skills to regulate your emotions and tolerate distress, manage pressure and failure, and use helpful self talk.
